Visual Representations: An Effective Tool to Promote Learning and Critical Thinking in Your Students

Course #:

EDDU 9494

Credit:

3 semester hours of graduate credit from University of Massachusetts Global.

Cost:

$400

Course Description

The numerous research studies on the use of visual representations all substantiate its benefit in helping students recall information, organize their ideas and to think more critically. These benefits are even more amplified in our society, as we are continually more dependent upon visual symbols, images and illustrations to deal with the world around us.

In this course, participants will first look at the various uses of visual representations in relation to either Bloom’s Taxonomy or the Depth of Knowledge Chart. They will be provided numerous examples of how visual representations are used to promote learning, understanding and thinking at each level of the two models.
