3 semester hours of graduate level professional development credits from University of Massachusetts Global.
With the rise of technology and loss of imagination, Makerspaces are making their way to bring back the spark of creativity. In this course, participants will learn what a Makerspace is and how to use them. They will allow for students to be engaged in collaborative and hands-on learning.
This course will provide innovative ideas for participants to create their own Makerspaces based on the needs of their students and the content being covered. Since there are many different types of Makerspace ideas, they will need to create their own design with the students in mind. After they will create their own Makerspace, they will have an opportunity to bring it to fruition by using it in a lesson. They will need to give students the ability to choose and release control in order for Makerspaces to be effective. In this way, students will take ownership of their learning and be more engaged while having fun at the same time!
